About Us

Lighthouse Ministries began as a prayer ministry in the home of Dr. Tom & Prophet Kathie Lounsbury. The entire company consisted of seven families. On January 1st, 1991, the prayer ministry gave birth to the present Church and ministries. The church was formed primarily as an intercessory Prayer outreach focusing on winning the lost in Danbury and the surrounding CT. area. As the vision for prayer continues to grow, so has the local fellowship, making its home at our present location 32 West St.

Due to the teaching of Bishop Dr. Larry Lea, on the essential place of corporate prayer in the local church; we have consistently met for prayer since the beginning of our ministry. We know we have been called to pray, to learn to pray and to teach others to pray. Thus penetrating the darkness with the Light of the Kingdom of God, thereby bringing people into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

As an inner city church and ministry, we are extremely involved with the community at large, being very interested in having an impact in every living person in Jesus Christ. We are especially interested in developing and educating the total person, ministering from the cradle to the grave. We presently have a fully-equipped Computer Room in operation for our children, with an after-school care program being implemented the beginning of 2002, as well as future goals for our own Daycare and School. We also minister to our community through an ever-expanding outreach ministry, our local cable television programs, and also at the Federal Correctional Institute here in Danbury.

We believe Lighthouse International has been ordained of God to call not only our local city to prayer, but also to help ministries in other nations around the world and to be a part of winning this generation to the Lord! With a heart and vision for “prayer and care” for not only our local city and surrounding area, but also for overseas missions, the Lord gave Lighthouse International a new mandate at the beginning of 2001 (click on “outreach” section for more details). This has opened such a door of opportunity to help other nations around the world. We were even blessed to have our first Missions Team go to Mexico in the summer of 2001, to help build a church there.

We continue to unite together with others and do what we never could do by ourselves...binding together spiritually, prayerfully and financially with a spirit of excellence. Together, we can make a difference!
